EVERYONE can celebrate Galentine’s Day. It’s less commercialized and more fun. Y’all don’t need an excuse to hook up with your significant partner, so this holiday can be used by EVERYONE to enjoy themselves … or enjoy themselves with someone. Whatever it is, make it romantic with some of these fab picks.

I know, I know, “but, Jennica, Feb 13th is Galentine’s Day”! From “How to Celebrate Galentine’s Day and Shower Your Besties With Love” –

“The best thing about Galentine’s Day is that it was created by a fictional character: Leslie Knope of Parks and Recreation. In 2010, the second season of Parks and Recincluded an episode called “Galentine’s Day,” in which Leslie gathers a group of her closest gal pals for a brunch full of waffles and love.

“Every February 13, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home and we just come and kick it, breakfast style,” Leslie says in the episode. “Ladies celebrating ladies.”

And thus, Galentine’s Day was unofficially added to everyone’s calendar. According to The Atlantic, it’s such a widely recognized fake holiday that some companies now run Galentine’s Day promotions. What could be more real than that?”

I think a late- Galentine’s Day may be a better holiday than Valentine’s for many people. This is a SHORT list of my picks for the day:

Pick from Them.us, “What to Watch: 7 (Actually Good) LGBTQ+ Rom-Coms to Stream for Valentine’s Day

Cloudburst (2011) — Netflix

Sometimes a family can just be two elderly lesbians, their truck, and a himbo hitchhiker. After 31 years together, hot butch Stella (Olympia Dukakis) and cottagecore queen Dot (Brenda Fricker) find their relationship threatened when their granddaughter threatens to put Dot into a nursing home. Naturally, the pair embark on a Thelma & Louise-style road trip to Nova Scotia to get hitched before that can happen.

A pick from my personal collection (always searching for a reason to share this gem):

Girls Will Be Girls (2003) – AMAZON

Evie (Jack Plotnick), an aging actress in the twi-dark of her career, drinks her way through the day, longing to jump-start her career and any man in the vicinity. Her roommate and verbal punching bag, Coco (Clinton Leupp), only yearns for one thing: to have a child with the doctor that performed her abortion. When Varla (Jeffery Roberson), a naïve country girl with a bit of an eating disorder and her own dreams of making it as an actress, joins the household, their aspirations and sordid pasts come to an unforgettable boiling point.

The Sandra Bullock pick for a ladies night:

Practical Magic (1998) – AMAZON

Sexy superstars Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman heat up the small screen. These “bewitching” sisters use their hereditary gift of magic to overcome obstacles in discovering true love.

And a CLASSIC:

How Stella Got Her Groove Back (1998) – HULU

Stella is a highly successful, forty-something San Francisco stock broker who is persuaded by her colorful New York girlfriend Delilah to take a well deserved, first-class vacation to Jamaica. As she soaks in the beauty of the island, she encounters a strapping, young islander, Winston Shakespeare. His pursuits for her turn into a hot and steamy romance that forces Stella to take personal inventory of her life and try to find a balance between her desire for love and companionship, and the responsibilities of mother and corporate executive.
