Kate Hart’s deep dive into the most painful identity forming time in the teenage-to-adult transition, AFTER THE FALL, is a must-read. Both main character voices (you’ll understand once you begin reading it) are valid and completely fleshed out, getting us really connected to their world before Hart upends their trajectory …and the pain is excruciating. I recommend reading it 1. All in a few days (vacation or a long weekend), 2. When you need a good escape, and 3. Alone. Read this alone, but with a partner (book club) so that you have someone to talk to IMMEDIATELY.
