  • Title: Faith Based, Click to watch now
  • Genre: Comedy
  • Synopsis: When two friends realize all “faith based” films make buckets of cash, they set out on a mission to make one of their own.
  • What I Liked About It: The scene with Margaret Cho and Chris Marquette describing a successful “Christian” genre movie is hilarious. Can’t stop laughing. The satire is pretty aggressive, but I really like it here, it pays off.

  • Synopsis: A bored house cat who longs to explore the outside world escapes his home after he mysteriously transforms into a human.
  • What I Liked About It: The cat. Oh, my goodness, the cat. The man-cat equal to the cat-cat. You’ll understand once you start watching it.

  • Synopsis: Terminally ill Anna returns to Oregon to reconnect with her estranged brother while simultaneously making the heart-wrenching choice to end her life putting to use the Death with Dignity Act.
  • What I liked About It: So many important conversations, a must-watch for intergenerational families about the painful subjects surrounding end of life decisions. Anna Camp and Joe Lo Truglio are just wonderful to watch!

  • Synopsis: Storyline dealing with the late musician, David Bowie.
  • What I Liked About It: An interesting premise that opens up our idea of life and love and how we live.

  • Genre: Suspense, Thriller
  • Synopsis: A late night knock at the door from an absent friend brings the question – “I need you to come with me, but I can’t tell you where we’re going or what we’re going to do.” How far would you go to help those you care about?
  • What I Liked About It: The timeline, the chase, and the identity of “The Man In The Trunk” are surprising. And it comes all together is a way you wouldn’t expect. I was pretty emotionally involved for the journey of our leading man. Slow moving, but really good.

  • Synopsis: After getting mixed up with a dangerous crime syndicate, an undercover cop wakes up to discover he is missing his partner, his wife, and three days of his life.
  • What I Liked About It: Robert Palmer Watkins begins to unravel a mystery, but his life has fallen apart and he must find his way back to his wife, Deborah L Smith.

  • Synopsis: Bodies start to pile up when a drug-user nurse and her cousin try to find a replacement kidney for an organ trafficker.
  • What I liked About It: GREAT characters you want to watch, perfect tone, the poster lets you know that its truly a horror movie.

  • Synopsis: Luis and Ronald, two best friends from Los Angeles, videotape their last 36 hours before shipping off to Afghanistan, one hundred days before Obama’s inauguration.
  • What You liked About It: I love the story, characters and experimental camera style

  • What You liked About It: This smart werewolf movie is actually a dissertation on how anger can fester in our society and in our souls. For something that felt like “pure entertainment” at the time of screening, It lingered with me in incredible and unexpected ways. Watch it on itunes/ Apple TV!

  • What You liked About It: A movie for TRUE movie and comic buffs.  Great Scene with Stan Lee.

  • Synopsis: Cherry Pop! is a crazy night in the life of a small local bar’s drag show. It’s about a newcomer struggling with being the outcast on his first night. And a legend coming to terms with life after her last night in drag. And it’s about a bunch of other back-stabbing queens with their own problems who just plain can’t stand each other. Even the stories of some of the patrons play a part in the chaos. Cherry Pop is a real-time roller coaster ride where you better be strapped up, tucked in, and ready to go! 
  • What You liked About It: Some of the best drag queens in the business doing what they do best!!!

  • Synopsis: A Chinese family discovers their grandmother has only a short while left to live and decide to keep her in the dark, scheduling a wedding to gather before she dies.
  • What I liked About it: If you missed this fantastic independent comedy about a Chinese family returning back home to China for a wedding when it first came out – watch it now! Awkwafina shines in it, and it’s directed by the wonderful female director, Lilu Wang. I loved every minute of this film and hope to see it a second time!

  • Genre: Family
  • Synopsis: Tired of being bullied, Cassandra Evans prays that her nemesis, Katie Sharp, the queen bee of social media, would know what it’s like to walk a day in her shoes. Her prayer is answered in an unexpected way when they get “Switched.”
  • What I Liked About It: Great for the whole family. Anti-bullying message and body-swap movie. It’s as good as you want it to be!
